Of all of our teams, what types of years do you see each having?
This could be hilarious to bring back up after each season is over.
My initial thoughts:
Texas Rangers: Makes playoffs lose in ALCS
Dallas Cowboys: Big year for the Boys. Don't make Super Bowl but get ourselves on the right track...more questions arise about Romo being able to win the big one as he loses in the NFC title game
Texas Aggies Football: 10-2 with losses to Arkansas and OU. Still a great year, and recruiting looks good because of it.
Texas Aggies Baseball: Very typical year for the Ags. Makes the postseason and loses in the regional round. Very meh conference record
Arkansas Razorbacks Football: A bit of rebuilding to do could cost the Hogs some early games. Then they'll catch fire agains A&M and have another 9-10 win year.
TCU Horned Frogs Football: 9 wins is their magic number. They have to replace too many people. If they get to 9 theya re doing well.
Houston Cougars Football: Could be a conference title year with 12 year returning letterman Case Keenum back under center. I expect them to win CUSA
tu longhorns Football: 8-4 with losses to OU, A&M, OSU, and one other. They will be playing a lot better than this season, though.
Houston Texans: 10-6 wild card playoff team with the addition of a good DC. Loss in the 1st round, though.
Houston Astros: They are the new Rangers of old. They will be bad. Real bad.
I left basketball out because we are right in the middle of it.

I'd be happy with a 9-win TCU football season. 12-0 is a possbility given their schedule but they remind me of the '07 team that went 8-5 and lost 3 games they really shouldn't have that were mainly due to inexperience and not lack of talent.
Anything less than a CWS for the baseball team is a failure.
Rangers win WS with MY. Don't make the playoffs without him.

Rangers win the division again, but lose out in the Division Series. Lack of starting pitching hurts us. Michael Young stays and logs games at all infield positions, along with DH. Bats over 300. Gets traded in December.
Cowboys lose in the Divisional Round of the playoffs after taking a Wild Card. Romo injury during season causes him to miss 2-3 games. Romo questions take massive fire locally.
Aggies are Conference Champs with 2 losses. Lose in the Rose Bowl.
Arkansas struggles to win 6 games.
TCU wins 8 games. Armed Forces Bowl.
Houston wins CUSA.
North Texas has 6 win season. 2nd in Sun Belt.

Rangers win ALCS. Cowboys win one playoff game. Mavs lost in second round. Stars make it to conference semis. Aggies fall short behind OU. North Texas wins 4 but has good attendance at new stadium. Andrew Luck wins Heisman. Aggie basketball wins in first round of tourny and thats it.

I agree with the sentiments on all the Houston teams except the Astros (and the snide 12 year comment about case). I think we've got enough young talent to be better than last year. The guys started gelling together really well at the end of the season and I think it will carry into the new season. I'm hopeful and optimistic.
UH baseball should do decent.
I'd like to see the Rangers do well again this season and I think they could. But when you have players asking to be traded it breaks down morale. I just hope that its early enough in the season that the guys get pissed and overcome it.

No need to take issue, KL, I call them like I see them.
The comment wasn't so much snide as it was accurate.

No need to take issue, KL, I call them like I see them. The comment wasn't so much snide as it was accurate. Last year you said they would struggle to win 65 games. They won 76. Not saying they are going to be good, but they aren't as bad as you say.

Rangers- Win the division with less than 90 wins but get knocked out in the ALDS.
Astros- 75-80 wins
Cowboys- 9-7 miss the playoffs. Romo's seat starts to get pretty warm
Texans- 9-7 miss the playoffs. I want to see them finally put it all together for an entire season, but I'm just not sure Kubiak is the man for the job
Aggie baseball- What Fischer said
Aggie football- 11-2 losing to OU in Norman and a BCS bowl.
Golf- Tiger fails to win a major again this year, Phil finally wins the US Open.

Yeah they weren't as bad as I predicted last year. But I wasn't far off. They won't be much better this year either. They do always play real well down the stretch

TCU will go 10-2 at the least with this pathetic schedule:
Sept. 3 at Baylor Sept. 10 bye Sept. 17 Louisiana-Monroe Sept. 24 Portland State Oct. 1 SMU Oct. 8 Colorado State Oct. 15 at Air Force Oct. 22 UNLV Oct. 28 BYU (at Cowboys Stadium) Nov. 5 bye Nov. 12 at San Diego State Nov. 19 at Wyoming Nov. 26 New Mexico Dec. 3 at Boise State
Boise, AFA, and bYu pose the only threats. They win 2 of 3. They lost at Wyoming in 07 but that Cowboys team would be this one by three TDs. The BYU game at Jerry World is slated as a Friday game b/c it's part of BYU's ESPN package. I guess they'll get used to playing on Friday nights.

Here is the perfect 2011 Sports Year...
Texas Rangers: Beat Astros in the World Series
Dallas Cowboys: Beat Texans in the Super Bowl...badly.
Texas Aggies Football: 13-0 with great win in OU and blowout domination at home vs sips
Texas Aggies Baseball: CWS
Arkansas Razorbacks Football: 11-2 or 12-1 losing to Ags at least once.
TCU Horned Frogs Football: 7-5 That'll shut what has recently become one of the most annoying fan bases in the country, but not just kill them. I used to like them quite a bit.
Houston Cougars Football: 11-1 losing to SMU for the CUSA championship
tu longhorns Football: 7-5 or 8-4. I want them rolling into the Thanksgiving Day game with thoughts of ruining our perfect season and saving theirs...that'll show everyone that they're back. But the Ags beat them something like 56-3 or 49-0 to let them know how things are going to be from here on out.
Houston Texans: 10-6 wild card playoff team that makes the Super Bowl with 3 wildly entertaining games. Cowboys dominate.
Houston Astros: Wild card playoff team that makes the World Series with 3 wildly entertaining series...Rangers Sweep
I left basketball out because we are right in the middle of it.
