And the Big 12 North was pretty bad this year. I still can't believe Nebraska lost to Washington. FIFY The South was as good as it's ever been even with tu sucking it up this year.

The South was as good as it's ever been? I seem to remember a year or two ago when Tech, TU and Oklahoma were all playing for a spot in the National Championship. Oklahoma State was probably as good as they are this year. A&M is the only team that is better. So what made you come to this conclusion?

You named the one year where the South might have been stronger than this year. And even that is up for debate.

You really think it's up for debate? I mean I think they were for sure better that year. If you look at rankings throughout the year plus the actual players that were on those teams you have to say they were better right? This is how I see it.
Oklahoma was a lot better then Texas was a lot lot better then Texas Tech was a lot better then Oklahoma State was the same A&M is better now Baylor is a little better now

OSU was WAY better this year than in 08. Not even comparable.
Players? I assume you mean McCoy and Bradford?
Yeah there were some good QB's in that year but as far as overall players there is no great difference. I'd call it a push.
Baylor is a lot better now than they were.

But to get back to the point of the discussion: the Big 12 > Big11
Here is how I break it down. I am sure there will be some disagreements.
OU = tOSU - I'd give OU the edge but that might be homerism so its a push OSU > Wisconsin - far more speed and better balance on offense, close one though A&M > Michigan State - I think we all saw how poor michigan state really was Mizz < Iowa - they played so this one is cut and dry, although close Neb > Penn State- The word anemic comes to mind when I think of penn State. tceh = Illinois - again, this one would probably go to tceh but I'll concede BU < Michigan - two similar teams. Michigan is a little better KSU > Northwestern - another close one, but KSU has better athletes ISU > Purdue - Purdue sucks tu > Indiana- Indiana sucks, too ku > Minnesota - Minnesota is one of the worst teams in all of college football cu > non existing team - cu is better than Minnesota, but not by much
So that leaves it 7-2-2 in favor of the big 12

'08 is the only year that it's even close, but I still think top to bottom the South was better this year. A&M and Baylor were absolutely terrible that year, and this years OSU team would wipe the floor with the '08 OSU team. I'll agree OU, tech, and obviously tu weren't as good this year as they were in '08, but the division as a whole was much tougher this year than in '08. If A&M and Baylor would have even been half way decent that year there wouldn't have been 3 11-1 teams in '08.

I think both of you guys are smoking something outrageous. But it's your opinion.
But you guys are saying that Oklahoma and Texas are just as good this year as they were in '08? I mean come on, and no not just QB's, Oklahoma had 3 guys taken in the top 5 of the draft last year. Texas absolutely blows ass this year. I mean they had McCoy who is one of the greatest TU QB's of all time and Jamaal Charles who is pretty good himself. I'll give you A&M. Tech is terrible this year. Baylor is better but they went from god awful to we can actually win a game.
I would have put the Big 12 south up against the SEC in '08. This year I would have run and hide.

I could argue about the big 10 being better than the big 12 but there is no way we can prove anything unless they actually play. The problem now a days is no one will play eachother. Everyone just schedules North Texas and other teams of that nature while the only real teams they play are ones in their own conference.

rank your teams in each conference and compare them top to bottom like I did.
Which ones do you disagree with? Of course we won't get anywhere...have we ever?
Top to bottom the Big 12 blows the Big11 out of the water in my opinion. I am interested in yours.

Judging by your second sentence I'm guessing you didn't read my post. Neither one of us said anything close to that. And I stand by my statement that had OSU, A&M, and Baylor been as good in '08 as they were this year, there wouldn't have been 3 11-1 teams in the South that year.

that's a pretty good point finch. The reason they were 11-1 is because the other teams were god awful.
Also, doyle, no one said ou or tu is as good this year as they were then. Your argument about better players doesn't carry a ton of weight, though. There will be a ton of 1st rounders taken in the next two years from the Big 12 south. Probably not any less than in 08-09
