Well it's official, I am now drinking the kool-aid. I know I am getting my hopes up just to once again be disappointed, but I guess it's better to watch your hopes go down in a ball of flames than to never have hope at all....or something like that.
09/04/10 vs. STEPHEN F. AUSTIN - W 49-31
Game is closer than most would like, but the defense needs time to gel and there will definitely be some growing pains.
09/11/10 vs. LOUISIANA TECH - W 45-21
Defense starts to look a little better, but still not ready for Big 12 play. Offense continues to roll as the O-line improves.
09/18/10 vs. FIU - W 35-17
Offense has some turnover issues, but the defense starts to come around and comes up with several big plays to keep the game from getting away from the Ags.
09/30/10 at Oklahoma State - W 31-24
OSU always makes it a game in Stillwater, but they lost a ton of players over the past two years and Gundy's days might be numbered in Stillwater. Game is close in the first half but the Ags pull away in the second with OSU adding a late TD to make the game seem closer than it was. Offense struggles a little but the defense starts to look strong.
10/09/10 vs. Arkansas - L 38-27
I really want to pick the Ags in this game, but I just can't after the beating they got last year. Defense has it's worst game of the year and the offense has trouble moving the ball most of the game other than a few big plays.
10/16/10 vs. MISSOURI - W 35-24
Mizzu should be pretty good this year, but the Aggie offense will be too much for them to handle. Defense looks a little shaky, but they play well enough to get the W
10/23/10 at Kansas - W 28-21
IF we play well up to this point I see this as a possible trap game, but I am going to give the Ags the benefit of the doubt and say they find a way to get the win. Offense has a rough game with a few turnovers but the defense has their best game of the season and is able to make up for the offense's mistakes.
10/30/10 vs. TEXAS TECH - W 31-14
I know tceh fans think they will be able to keep Leach's offense, but there is no way Tubbs will watch his defense get beat up for 40 minutes a game while the offense throws the ball 50 times a game. By this point tceh will have gone to a more controlled offense and Lubbock will be in meltdown mode. Tceh's defense will be pretty strong, but the Ags running backs wear them down and by the fourth the Ags have this one sealed up. Defense plays very well and starts to give Aggies hope for a great season.
11/06/10 vs. OKLAHOMA - L 38-21
The only game this year that I am 99% sure the Ags will lose. OU's defense will be one of the best in the nation and their offense will be good enough to beat most teams. Ags keep it close early but the defense finally breaks down and the offense has trouble moving the ball consistently.
11/13/10 at Baylor - W 28-24
This is probably the scariest game of the year for me. I think the Ags are the better team, but this is Baylor's super bowl and they always pull out all the stops for this game. I think the Ags win, but it will be a nail biter down to the last seconds. Defense gives up a ton of yards, but gets stops when they need to, offense has a good game but makes a few key mistakes that keep the game close.
11/20/10 vs. NEBRASKA - W 21-13
Honestly I have no clue about this game. I'm really not buying in to all the Nebraska hype, but they will still be a tough team to beat. I'm going with the Ags mainly because the game is at home, and they should have a ton of momentum behind them at this point. Also I just don't see how the Nebraska offense will be good enough to keep their defense from getting beat up by the end of the game/season.
11/25/10 at Texas W 34-31
I know a lot of people think tu could make another run at a MNC this year, but I just don't see it. They will be good with out a doubt, but their O-line is still weak in spots and with out a strong running game to take some pressure of Gilbert, he will have some big growing pains. A tough game for sure, but the Ags find a way to pull this one out.
Cotton Bowl - Ags 31- LSU 17
Aggies finally get a decent bowl win over an over achieving LSU team. Offense goes out strong and the defense plays well enough all season to give Aggie fans hope for next year. Ags finish 11-2 ranked in the top 25 for the first time in ages.
Do I honestly think this will happen? No. But, and this is a big but, if most of our key guys stay healthy and some of the young guys step up this year (duh), I think this team is good enough to make some waves in college football. Realistically I think the Ags are a 7-5 or 8-4 team, but with a fair amount of luck and some good coaching I think this could be the year the Ags finally break out of the cellar of the big 12-2.
