What I don't understand is how they reason that teams should get a point for a tie. They need to finish the game, but if that is just too damn difficult then let it be a tie game, but don't give teams a point for that. You should get 2 points for a win, 0 for a tie, and -1 for a loss. That would at least make a little more sense.

Thats the same scoring system and would produce the same results. But I guess in reality it doesnt reward a tie then.

Explain to me how that is a fag out? It's no different really than the fans who bring noisemakers to any other sporting event. You may not like soccer, but you should support the US. So if you aren't doing that, then yes, you are unpatriotic. I don't care about swimming or track and field, but I always root for the US during the Olympics.
