I'm sure USC will have something to say about that.

just another thought, and maybe y'all have the answers...
Why is A&M the only one with the stones to tell tu to shove it? Where have OU, OSU, ttu, and the rest been in this thing. They seem content just to follow tu around and fight for scraps off of tu's table.
Screw that.

Just heard on ESPN that TU is trying to keep the conference intact by proposing a new TV deal. Here's the kicker, TU makes most of the money off of this. How could anyone want that?

I am surprised to see how much the University of Texas controls the media in this state. All I hear is what a mistake it would be for the Aggies to separate from UT.
1) aTm will make more money in the SEC, all that supposed Pac money is based on PROJECTIONS. The SEC schools are cashing those checks, plus more, NOW.
2) Can you imagine the recruiting pitch A&M can give recruits in Texas? "Son, how would you like to play here in Texas in front of all your family and friends in the greatest conference in football?" A&M's recruiting would soon rival and surpass UT's.
3) Texas is in this solely for their benefit and any Aggie that thinks UT wants what's best for anyone besides themselves is an idiot.
Love the fact that R. Davis picked up on the fact that A&M called UT's bluff. Texas is very afraid of what A&M can become once they are out from under that damn orange spotlight.
C'mon Ag's tell them to eff off!!!

Without Texas high school football players, no one will want OU.

Why not go to the BIG 10, where they're cashing checks even bigger than the SEC schools?

It's not even about the money for TU. They could go to the SEC make the money AND have their own network. They "claim" to have a problem with the academics of the SEC schools...funny they didn't mind sharing a conference with schools like OU, Tech, OSU and others that are not AAU affiliated.I think it's more about protecting their spot at the head of the table in the state of Texas. That, and having their ass handed to them 3 or 4 times a year in the SEC.

Why not go to the BIG 10, where they're cashing checks even bigger than the SEC schools? 1) Big 10 will not allow them to have their own network. 2) SEC teams make almost as much from TV contracts, PLUS have the ability to have their own network which means some SEC teams (ALA, FLA, LSU) make more than Big 10 teams. 3) I think being in the Big 10 would hurt their recruiting. 4) They would be isolated. All road trips would be impossible for their fans to attend.

You are spot on with all of your posts Mike, you know that, I know that, pretty much any educated football fan knows that what you are saying is true.
The problem is that the average football fan doesn't have a clue about any of this. They will believe whatever the tv/radio/newspaper tells them. They will then bash Aggies for not having Texas pride and being willing to let those uneducated redneck southerners in our state to steal our recruits. Then they will head to Wal Mart to buy more tu shirts, socks, hats, jump suites and talk about how great "my" school is and how "we" might win the NC this year.

Like I said, if tu is successful in spinning this so that the Ags are forced to stay in the Big 12 even though the deck might be stacked against them, my hatred for that school with go through the roof. If the Ags don't cut ties with them now we will forever be their little bitch with no chance of sustaining long term success in their shadow. It honestly makes sick to my stomach.

They are completely happy to play in tu's shadow as long as they think tu is on their side, which of course tu couldn't care less about them, but ttu doesn't know that. As far as ou and osu are concerned, I don't have the slightest clue, that has been puzzling me from the start of this.

If I was Big 12 commish I'd:
Change the name from Big 12 to SWC. Sign a contract today with FOX for a network deal. (If everyone leaves, contract is void). Move OU and OSU to the North to replace Nebraska and Colorado. Pass invites out to LSU and Arkansas. Back-up plan is TCU/Houston.
