This is from the 1987 Denton Broncos football season. It was a hilite they made before going to play Odessa Permian in the 3rd round of the playoffs. The Broncos and the Panthers were widely considered to be the top two teams in their half of the bracket. The Panthers won 16-3 at Fouts Fieldin front of a crowd of around 20,000 which was, at the time, the highest attendence for a game at Fouts Field. It was a heck of a game. Its one of the first football games I remember. This video used to get me fired up, and still does. Good video. I like the tackle at about the 3:12 mark. LB shoots in and drops the RB for a loss. Wraps his arms around his legs and drops him. I'm sick of all this ESPN-big hit-blow up the ball carrier-put me on Sportscenter-crap.
They could have found some better music. That stuff was annoying.

WOW those guys looked slow. Great video though. The music was awesome. That is just because you haven't seen much high school football. That defense was one of the fastest, most dominating defenses Denton ever had. They flat out mauled people. They still talk about that team's defense in Denton. |
