Is there any pressure on Sherman this year? Is there an Aggie group pushing for Tubberville if Sherman doesn't show results this year?

it wouldn't be Tubberville, but I don't think Sherman is going anywhere anyways. The Athletic Department is in debt, their record will probably be better (5-7) by a slight margin, and recruiting is going well somehow.

will there be any pressure on Petrino if he doesn't get them going this year? What if HDN wins the SEC west over at Ole Miss?

I didn't think Sherman would be in trouble, but I have seen rumors of Aggie interest in Tubberville.
Petrino is safe. Arkansas can't afford to pay 3 football coaches(Nutt, Petrino, and next coach) and 2 basketball coaches (Pelphrey-who will get fired this year and Next coach).
Nutt won't win the west, but if he did it would just increase the hate Arkansas fans have toward him.
Strike that. We couldn't hate him anymore than we do.

I don't think they will win the west either.
But if Arkansas holds down 2nd to last in that division and Ole Miss wins it, man that would be interesting.

Sherman signed a seven year contract, he isn't getting fired anytime soon barring a complete meltdown or some sort of scandal. I think Byrne realized how far our football program had fallen and understands it is going to take a few years to get things back on track. I just hope Sherman is the right guy to do that. So far I think he is doing pretty well as far as recruiting, now he just needs to get the W's.
P.S. Ole Miss will win the West, mark it.

Ole Miss has the talent, AND the schedule working for them to be successful this year. Only problem is Nutt folds like a cheap lawn chair whenever anything is expected of him. They will not win the SEC West.

Ole Miss will lose 4 games this year.

Really? Their schedule is about as easy as an SEC schedule can be, which is still pretty tough. What four games do you think they will lose?
How do y'all think Baylor will do this year?

I got Baylor at 6-6. Losses to Ou, OSU, Neb, Mo, UT, TTU.
EDIT:
Make that 5-7 with an Aggie win at College Station.

I don't know, that is a pretty favorable schedule. I can easily see 10-2 with 6-2 maybe being good enough to win the West. There is not a single game on there that I look at and think automatic loss for them.
Edit-this is for Ol' Miss.

I have Baylor at 4-8 with 5-7 possible if they beat us, which I think is a coin flip. Baylor is one of the most overrated teams in the Nation this year.

Gaylor will beat Neb. Who ever would have thought that would happen? More of an indictment on the health of the program in Lincoln.
Was listening to Sporting News Radio the other day and the question was "what D-1 headcoach would you want your son to play for?" A guy, obvious Aggie homer, calls in and says he'd take Sherman above Brown, Stoops, Meyer, Carroll, and Tressell. I about died laughing. Now if you wanna talk seemingly good guys then maybe Sherman will be near the top of your list but this guy was talking about the product on the field. The host couldn't talk any sense into him.
But Fischer is right, recruiting does seem to be going really well. They have a lot of talent at RB.
