Well, it looks like after a four year hiatus I will be entering the catfishing tournament again. It's pretty much 72 straight hours of fishing along with finding enough bait and making sure that you can keep the fish alive long enough to make to the weigh in. Oh yeah, forgot about drinking beer the entire time.
But before we can even start fishing I have less than five days to find lead for our drop line weights, make the weights, then make the lines with the weights, find a tank that hasn't gone dry and still has bait in it, and make soap for bait during the day.
I really wish there was a Catfish Pro Shop.

If there was it would be overpriced, the service would suck, they would quit backing their product, and it would always be crowded.

Not great at the moment. Now instead of two boat fishing our stretch of river there will be five. They also already have their lines out which leaves little room for us to fish. Also they are going around to all tanks and trapping as many perch as they can which means we may not be able to find any bait. On top of all that now what lines we do set out we will have to check every few hours to keep some of these other bastards from stealing our fish.
I'm not really sure what the hell we are going to do but we only have two days to figure it out.

I never knew catfishermen were so cut-throat.
Bastards.

That's the thing, most of these guys aren't catfisherman. They are just sad sad men with nothing better to do this weekend.

I have to talk about this twice a week with my therapist. I'd rather not go into it here.

Carry your knife with you down the river each time you go. Everytime you see a line that's not yours...cut it. You may not catch much, but at least they won't either.
