Yeah sonora's death row was a fun one to play. Travellin Soldier - another great tune but it baffles me now that I would play it.
Yeah I guess we kinda got it together. There have been so many wheels off shows though. My personal favorite is when we were at Adair's and I broke a string on my acoustic guitar. (Which used to happen almost every show) I didn't have a backup acoustic so I had to play my electric guitar straight through the PA. No amp. For anyone who doesn't know, the sound that this setup makes is revolting. You could get better tone by taping a string across your butt-cheeks and farting.

at the risk of bringing the board down any, i have to say THANK YOU for playing atlantic city. that song has special meaning to me and i have to fight to keep composed every time i hear it. basic gist of my attachment to the song is this. my grandpa passed away march 31, 2007. i got home from the hospital at like 2am and logged on to RFT to let folks know what had happened. they were broadcasting live from greenfest and wade bowen just happened to be doing his cover of atlantic city. i know it doesnt seem like the most sentimental song, but wade was my angel that night who brought me a song of hope, if you will. it got me thru a pretty rough spot. then however long ago it was, i heard the RP50PR cover. y'all blew me away and made the song better than the original. and that, my friends, is why i love y'all so much. so thank you for the kick ass song  |

If I Needed You is a GREAT song. I can't take much of studio TVZ but the live records are great. That's my favorite off the two-disc record I have.
I've been thinking of some other covers that would be fun for y'all to do but I know you'd never do them in a million years:
Long, Long Time-Linda Ronstadt (Great song. Lots of quick chord changes-which RP is great at)
Suspicious Minds-I can see Brooks doing the baseline the whole song. Gaybe singing backup. Needless to say, they need to cover at least one Elvis song at some time in their career.
I had a few more the other day but I can't think of them off the top of my head right now.

One thing we've never done, but I think is a really cool thing, is to cover local bands or bands you're close to. Doing a Thrift Store or Oso Closo song would be a lot of fun.
