True story I just got today...not sure if it's appropriate, but I'll tell anyway. So, my mom's dad passed away earlier this week. I didn't know him that well, since I grew up with her step-dad as my grandpa, but that's besides the point. Anyway, he's been in the hospital for a little over a week and all the family was there with him on his last few days. Along with his wife and kids and 'side project'. My aunt said this lady would walk into the room and sit beside him, and he would just grin ear to ear and stare at her the whole time. Happiest she's ever seen him.
See, he's had this other girlfriend for quite a while now, and he asked his wife for a divorce a while back (they are around 80) but she refused. So, he insisted that she would just have to deal with her. The girlfriend was coming over to the house all the time, going out with him and everything, in full view of the wife, who could do nothing about it. She was about 30 years younger too. Apparently, they all got along just fine.
When my aunt told me this today, I couldn't quit laughing, and she couldn't either. No one liked his wife. Anyway...thought it was funny and you might enjoy.
