why? did he commit to tcu?
He is a great kid, great athlete. Not a very good football player yet, but could be great.

I'm hearing conflicting reports. One publication says he has. One says he's still milling offers. The guy that does a recruiting blog for TCU says he has. He pretty much said the same thing. Huge upside and lots of room to grow.

He has committed: www.brenhambanner.com/articles/2008/06/27/sports/sports05.txtBrenham safety commits to TCU Brenham High School football player Trenton Thomas has committed to Texas Christian University after receiving scholarship offers from a variety of Division I programs. Thomas, who received honorable mention all-District 18-4A recognition last season as a strong safety/linebacker for the Cubs, visited the campus last weekend and decided to give TCU a verbal commitment. Thomas also received offers from Houston, Baylor, UNLV, Utah, Mississippi State, North Texas and Rice, coach Glen West said. TCU is in the midst of renovating its facilities to the tune of $150 million. Thomas' position within the Cubs' defense requires both pass and run responsibilities, and is used both at Brenham and TCU. Brenham moved to the unconventional 4-2-5 defense two years ago, and actually went to TCU for tips on how to run the defense. Verbal commitments are non-binding. West said fellow juniors Kendrick Washington and Kendrell Washington have also received scholarship offers but have not made any decision.

I question his decision on choosing TCU over Rice. That Rice degree is pretty impressive.

He obviously toured the engineering building at Rice and wasn't impressed with the bathrooms. Seriously, I could barely fit in the stall. A football player certainly couldn't. They are made for the Chinese that overrun that place.
I hope they exploit this Brenham pipeline more often. Fischer, you gonna go say hi to the kid?

What business did you have in the engineering building at Rice? Did your car break down in front of it?

Any college degree is big time for this kid. I wouldn't go to Rice either.
I might have gone Baylor over tcu. New staff, Big12.
Mississippi St. would be interesting with it being in the SEC, but would lose out due to location and it being Mississippi St.

I was in Houston, had some time to kill, decided to scope out Rice. Walked to the far side. Nature called. Tried to make it back to the union b/c I took a piss there earlier and they were nice. Only made it as far back as the engineering building.
I thought about ducking into a class to get some learning.
