For T-New and MB3?
That's a lot of money to pay a RB with only 1 career start who runs as hard as he does. Can he hold up over a 16 game season being the primary back? And how many years can he perform at that level? The lifespan of an NFL RB isn't very long. Also, with teams being able to find good RBs in the 3rd round and beyond, is it worth it? Does that leave enough money for a good 2nd RB that is almost a necessity in today's NFL?
Thoughts?

they already have their 2nd back (see Felix Jones). He will not be a bell cow, he will share carries (see Felix Jones).

I think they overpaid for both players, but so far this year players with less talent than them have been overpaid for as well. It's just a trend the league is in right now. Find a good player and lock him up for 5-6 years, if it doesn't work out move on to the next guy. Almost every team does it.

I forgot they got Jones. So I wonder how that makes him feel.

lucky...he will get paid.
From a career standpoint, being a back in a two back system is a good thing. You can last a lot longer.

Most definately but if I were Felix I would be a little pissed that apparently I'm not going to be the feature back. I lived under MDAC's shadow for a few years. I'm tired of being 2nd banana. It's my time to shine. I'm Felix Jones. I'm the most interesting man on the planet.

I hope he does and Jerry looks over and sees 150-200 carries and $6+ million on the bench half the time.

With the sweet deal from Arlington on the new stadium and the ticket prices he is getting, Jerry is not worried about $6 million. Especially since the owners just tore up the old players collective bargaining agreement.
Jerry worries about winning, money is secondary.

Jerry's not worried about money but it all depends on if there's a salary cap and how much it will be. I hope for MB3's sake, a good portion is loaded for 2010.
