I forgot about the jug lines. Jug lines are mostly used for lakes since there is no where to tie a drop or trot line to. We have used them in the river, but the current could take them down river and a trot line seems to work better any way. One thing fun to do with jugs in the river is tie a single hook on the end, no weight, just a hook. Stick a dead chicken or dead fish on the end and take it up river. Then grab a shady spot down river, grab a beer and watch the gar try to take the bottle under. Also, you can throw some frayed nylon rope around the bait and try to catch the gar, it is just really hard to pull up a 30 lb gar with just a bottle to hold on to.
I always love to talk fishing so keep the questions coming.

I would but we have just about exhausted my knowledge of fishing. One day, I'm going to have to get into it, sounds like it could be fun.

If you like drinking WAY too much beer and sitting by the river all day then catfishing is definitely for you.

Do you camp out there or just pull your boats up on the bank and sit around?

Both, if the owner of the land doesn't mind we camp out there. If he does we just pull the boats up, drink beer till midnight, drive home and start all over the next day.

Yeah, three days of beer, smoke, catfish, dead perch, catfish blood and guts, and sweat all without a shower makes for a great stench.

Your just jealous that I get to sleep with your man for three days jy.
If we 'camp', my buddy has a small travel trailer that we use. If not then we sleep at my parents house, which my mom loves for the reasons described above.
