Rangers lost their 5th in a row today. Michael Young made another error.
Is it just me or is Young the most over-rated "face of the franchise" of all time?

I think he has I Don't Give a Shit Syndrome. I love MY. He's my favorite player to watch but he's lost that gleam in his eye that he once had. Honestly, he looks like he's not having ANY fun out there and this is just a job. I'm not trying to make excuses for him but I can understand his frustration with the organization.

You may be right. Youngs error yesterday occured because he forgot to cover second base on an attempted steal. Just didn't go over. Just F-ing stood there with his head up his ass, as the throw sails into CF. A MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYER! HOLE---E SHIT!
That kind of stuff would get you on the bench in Little League.

I think you were the only one who really had that excitement about the rangers.
We all knew they sucked.

It's hard for me to get excited about baseball, season is just way too long. Plus the Stros suck.

Well, right now the Rangers have the lowest batting average and have made the most errors of any team in the major leagues. You want to talk about suck.

The error is actually on the catcher there. You can't assume it was Young or Kinsler who made the mistake. The whole situation depends on who is at the plate. If there's a lefty typically the shortstop covers second. If there's a righty, the 2nd baseman will cover. But that also depends on a few other factors. Say, if Wade Boggs were at the plate who was a slap hitter who liked to go the other way, then the 2nd baseman will cover. Also, it depends on the pitching approach to the batter. If someone like Greg Maddox is facing a lefty, then the second baseman would cover b/c Maddox likes to work the outer part of the plate. Either way, there was some terrible communication/coaching for that situation. If you watch the 2B and SS when there's a runner at first, they'll always communicate in some form. The most typical form is the shortstop will put a glove to his face and look at the 2B. An open mouth will usually mean he's covering the bag on a steal. Closed mouth will mean the 2B covers.

the manager is not the problem and never has been with the rangers.
You could put anyone in there and they will fail. Its management.
That said, I have no idea if this dude sucks or not, I am just saying that Joe Torre would fail in Arlington.

Gee...I gues you have a gripe with the official scorer then because he CHARGED Michael Young with the error. If a runner is stealing second the catcher makes that throw as long as all the other bases are not occupied. You have to trust your infielder will be there. The throw is made while the infielder is getting into position to cover. The catcher doesn't have time to wait until the infielder sets up. COME ON!
