Meyer and I went out in the monsoon on Saturday morning and had a good day. We ended up with 5 or 6 fish. The biggest was this nearly five pounder. I caught her in the grass on a 7 in. Watermelon seed Lizard in about 3 ft of grass. The water temp was 67.8 degress. Sunday afternoon I went out by myself again...Meyer fagged out. I was having a little trouble catching them shallow due to the front, so I moved deeper and started hammering them. I caught 6 good ones in 2 hrs. The biggest was this 5 lb. 2 oz. pig. I caught her in 12 ft. of water with a Carolina Rigged 6 inch Watermelon seed lizard. The water temp was right at 71 degrees. Took me 6 minutes to boat her. What a great fight.

Nope, this time I believe it was a song by the Drop kick Murphy's called The Fields of Athenry.

I have been doing pretty well lately. Part of it is that I'm getting better.
But most of it is that Fayette is really great this time of year.

haha, yeah right.
Seriously though... I am starting to learn a lot about how to catch fish. I am kind of obsessed with it. Every time I go I learn something new.
I am looking for a bass club so I can start to fish some local tournaments. I think it would be a whole lot of fun to compete, and you can learn a ton by fishing tourneys.

In fact, our fish aquarium in the living room right now has a crawdad, 24 minnows, and an 8 oz bass I caught. I want to see how they eat and how they stalk their food, etc.

Coach, you are the Bill Dance of the message board. You need to get a Aggie ball cap and never be photographed without it on your head.
