I think it's just another term for panfish, Mike... Actually panfish is a broad term encompassing many fish. Bluegill, crappie, sunfish, etc. So bluegill really isn't another term for panfish, Mr. Obvious. |

First of all, I'm not an ichthyologist nor have I ever claimed to be.
Second of all, I said "I think," which is another way of saying 'perhaps,' 'maybe,' or 'possibly.' It's an open-ended statement-not an absolute.
Third of all, it is permissable to call a blue fish a panfish even though there are several types of fish classified under this term.
Fourth of all, I could have said bream instead of panfish.
Fifth of all, merkin.

We just use the term perch. It fits all. Assholes. Bluegill, panfish, bream, who gives a shit. Give me perch.
