Well, mikeswife and I nutted up and made the drive out here to the south plains. The drive was not too bad except for the part from Sweetwater to Lubbock. I thought it was never going to end. Enjoyed the wind generators, very impressive sight.
Jakes Sports Cafe was a really nice place with a very cool setup for live music in the back. In the front it was your generic sports bar (think Hooters minus hot waitresses flirting for larger tips). One word of caution; do NOT order the grilled chicken sandwich. Had to have been the second hottest thing I ever attempted to eat. Buffalo wings in Buffalo, NY barely edges it out. I couldn't even eat half of it and of course...I like to eat. Think the waitress either served me a Buffalo chicken sandwich by mistake or she just wanted to see a fat, bald guy sweat.
The Peso show was outstanding. Looks like the fellas have been working on stage presence and seemed really relaxed and enjoying themselves up there. The interaction between each other is a great addition. Keep it up! The boys had second billing but really kicked the headliners asses judging by the crowd support. For the Peso show, the crowd was standing in front of the stage...singing along...really into it. The headliners came out to a completely empty stage front with a few disinterested people seated at tables. These guys were very ghey. Most of the crowd left after the Peso show.
Enjoyed the time with the band after the show, Great friends; great times!
I got to go hit the free breakfast buffet now but this evening if anyone wants to eat some Mexican food; mikeswife and I will be at Los Vaqueros on the North Side around 7. C'mon by!Hope to see everybody tonight in FW at the W/E; the Pesos say it will be one hell of a show.
