I did some digging and found some reviews. This one has some hilarity in it:
A Peso for Your Thoughts.. TexasGigs - Cindy's Original Blog By Cindy Chaffin
Rodney Parker & 50 Peso Reward have gotten way way way under my skin. Rodney has that sexy, slighty raspy singin' voice that makes us gals squeal with delight. Then there's Brooks---don't even get me started on that hot tomater.
"Blow the Soot Out" is an excellent alt.Country/Roots Rock album and a must have for your collection:
Sounding comparable to Jay Farrar - connected to Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, or even singular - Rodney Parker and the boys have a stake in the say of the future of Texas music. With other modern day groupings of cow-punks such as Macon Greyson, Collin Herring, and the Thrift Store Cowboys, this new generation of borderless musicians will no doubt steal the thunder of the status quo Texas sound, forcing the direction of popular Texas music onto a new, more substantial and satisfying threshold.
The band, based out of North Texas, is Rodney Parker (lead vocals, guitar and mandolin), Danny Skinner (accordion, banjo, and harmonica), Brooks Kendall (acoustic bass), Henry Story (drums), and Zach Galindo (lead guitar).
Check out "Blow the Soot Out" and purchase it shortly thereafter. Or hell, come on over to AllGood Cafe on Friday, September 3rd to see the band live!
Cindy now blogs at The Fine Line.

Here's another. I didn't find a date:
50 Peso Reward TexasGigs - Cindy's Original Blog By Cindy Chaffin
A couple of my new favorite bands are playing at the wicked awesome Iron Horse Pub tonight in Wichita Falls.
"Rodney Parker is an Alt. Country singer songwriter from Denton, TX. His new Album, "Blow the Soot Out", will be available in stores and online in early May" Rodney's band the 50 Peso Reward is made up of some great musicians (including the hot hot hot Brooks Kendall) rounding this out to be one dang great band.
