Yeah they may take out the TAKS but they will just replace it with an end of course test which students will be required to pass before they can graduate. Which is stupid...we will still be teaching towards a test. It won't solve any of our problems.
I like my job during TAKS testing. I get to walk the late students to and from their classrooms. I would say I walked about 2-3 miles in the last two days just around campus.
Our campus is "academically unacceptable" and we have one more year to improve our scores or TEA will come in and take over. They will fire all administration and re-interview every teacher. Honestly I think it what our school needs.
